I have an iMac (OSX 10.9 Mavericks) and when I use Citrix Receiver (11.8.2) to connect to my office the desktop will not open. I have also tried the 'Problems with connecting' link and a message flashes up but goes away so quickly I can't tell what it is saying for certain. Something about not being allowed. I had a similar problem before I upgraded to Mavericks and was using Mountain Lion. I also have a MacBook Pro running Mountain Lion and the receiver works just fine. Both the MacBook Pro and iMac are connected to my home network.
Troubleshooting Citrix Receiver for Mac Installing Citrix Receiver for Mac. Note: Citrix Receiver is supported on Mac's running OS X 10.5 and above - Mac users navigating to should be prompted to download the client. If issues occur the below process can be used to download and install the client manually.
The MacBook by Wifi and the iMac by Ethernet. I have not been able to find any log files that might point to a specific issue. Any help is appreciated.

The Citrix viewer for the Mac is driving me mad with is unreliability. I am using OS X 10.9.2 and have followed the advice to down grade from 11.8.2 to Citrix viewer 11.7.0 but it still did not work until I shifted my computer to make a direct ethernet connection rather than attempting to use the WIFI. Now after 1 day of happy use, Citrix Viewer fails again, by fail I mean, it logs in connects to my desktop session (restarted numerous times by my support) and then shows the windows desktop back drop, but as soon as I press the start icon, my pointer changes to an hour glass and thats it, stuck.
I know that the session it self is fine, for if I log in using an old Mac Book 10.6.8 and Citrix viewer 11.7.0 the session works fine. But I need the large screen of my iMac to work effectively, and this problem has chewed a great deal of my time up. I see some errors in my Console that might or might not help you resolve the problem. Hi, I still have the problem with 10.9.3 Mavericks and Citrix Receiver 11.8.2 and retried with 11.7.2 as suggested. (Another 2.5 hours) wasted with restarts, re-installs, and patient waiting. The problem being, connections works to remote server works, but is so slow, measured in minutes for a single user mouse click, as to be useless. Just a reminder, the 11.7.2 version did work on my iMac before I upgraded to Mavericks.
Never had the chance to test 11.8.2 before upgrade. Citrix Console log attached. Hi, I still have the problem with 10.9.3 Mavericks and Citrix Receiver 11.8.2 and retried with 11.7.2 as suggested.

Never had the chance to test 11.8.2 before upgrade. Citrix Console log attached. Maybe the answer is in the internetplugins settings. Open preferences - security - westite settings. Check if the citrix receiver plug in has the allow always check box. After that in my case the receiver acted as usual. Maybe, the settings help.
As my 11.7.0 Receiver on My OS X 10.9.5, Safari 7.1 is now working, having not tried since June. However I should have tried the negative case before touching the Safari preference settings to be sure that it helped. What ever the reason, I'm very happy to be able to use the Receiver again after 6months+ of down time. Thanks very much Charly (have not been impressed with Citrix at all with this problem).
